At Alloway Netball Club, we offer a structured pathway that follows Netball Australia’s developmental frameworks. Whether your child is just starting out or is ready for the intensity of competitive play, we have a team that fits their age and stage.

NetSetGO (Ages 5–10)

Woolworths NetSetGO is Netball Australia’s official starter program. It is designed to be a fun, safe, and social introduction to the sport, ensuring children develop a lifelong love for being active. We divide our NetSetGO teams into three tiers to match each child's physical and social development:

• Net (Ages 5–6): Focusing on fundamental motor skills through play-based activities and games.

• Set (Ages 7–8): Transitioning into more specific netball skills and introducing modified match play.

• GO (Ages 9–10): Refining netball techniques through modified matches that prepare players for the next step in their journey.

In these age groups, the emphasis is entirely on fun, skill development, and participation. We use modified equipment—including smaller balls and lower goal posts—to ensure every child can experience success as they learn the basics.

Junior & Senior Competitive Divisions (Ages 11+)

For children turning 11 this year and older, the transition begins into our competitive junior divisions. This is where the foundation built in NetSetGO meets the excitement of full-court netball.

• 11/U to 17/U Junior Divisions: Players compete in age-based sections where they begin to apply advanced tactics, specialised court positions, and team strategies.

• Development Pathway: Following Netball Australia’s Netball Skills Development Framework, our coaches focus on moving players through the Foundation and Development stages, preparing them for higher-level representative opportunities.

• Senior Competition: For our older teenagers and adult members, we offer Senior teams that balance a high standard of play with the social community Alloway is known for.

Inclusivity for All

Following Netball Australia guidelines, we are proud to offer inclusive opportunities for all children.

• Gender Inclusion: In our 11/U and younger divisions (including NetSetGO), boys and girls play together with no restrictions on playing ratios, ensuring everyone has equal access to the court.

• Mixed Competitions: We continue to support pathways for boys and men to remain involved in the sport as the club grows.
